# Protect a page with a password, or keep it for members

Some pages are for everybody. Some are for people with the password, or for people who are signed in.

## 1. Open the page’s settings

In the editor, the toolbar shows who can see the page. Press it to change.

## 2. Choose who can see it

Anyone; only people with the password; or only members — people signed in to your site. A protected page stays out of the menu and the footer for everyone else.

## 3. Set the password, if you chose one

Type it once. Visitors who open the page are asked for it. A wrong guess gets the same answer as a page that does not exist, so nobody can even tell the page is there.

## 4. Keep a page as a draft

A page marked as a draft is not shown to anybody but you, whatever else is set — useful while a page is half written.
