Build your website

There is no form to fill in. You land in the real editor, looking at your own page, and a guide asks one question at a time. You type each answer straight into the page, right where the words will live.

The first two questions, asked on the page

1. What your business is called — it lands in the menu as you type it, and goes at the top of every page.
2. What you do — one or two sentences, in your own words, which land under your name on the banner.

Both appear on the page as you type, and the rest of the build carries straight on from there.

Or say your answers out loud

Switch on "Talk instead of typing" and you can answer each question by speaking. You see what was heard, tidied up, before it goes on your page. Say it again, fix it on the page, or go back to typing at any step.

Then we build the rest of it together

From there a guide offers you one section at a time — what you offer, what your customers say, how to get in touch — and asks you for the words for each, one question at a time, typed straight into the page. When your home page is done it suggests the other pages a business like yours usually has, tells you what each one is for, and builds the ones you choose the same way. Nothing gets created unless you asked for it.

Then save it

When every page is done, the last card offers to save your website. Sign in, or create an account, and everything you built is saved to it as a real website with its own address and its own editor. Nothing reaches your visitors until you publish it from there.

What you can do

• Add your logo to the menu, and take its colours as your look
• Pick your colours and fonts against your own page, not a swatch, with the easy-to-read looks marked
• See every page as a phone or a computer shows it before you save
• Change any words by clicking them on the page
• Drag sections into the order you want
• Change your colours and fonts at any time
• Add your own web address, and publish when you are ready
