Connect your own web address

Your site starts at yourname.awdcms.com. Pointing a web address you own at it takes one setting here and one where you bought it.

1. Open Web addresses in your site’s dashboard

Dashboard → your site → Web addresses. Type the domain you own and press Add.

2. Add the one record it asks for

The page shows exactly what to set where you bought the address — the host and the value. It is one record, and the page checks it for you.

3. Wait for it to take

A change like this takes from a few minutes to about an hour to spread. The page says “connected” when it has, and your site then answers at the new address over a secure connection, set up for you.

4. Keep the old address working

The awdcms.com address keeps working alongside your own, so nothing you have already shared breaks.
